I have always been looking for 'little treasures' on the ground. This tendency produced a good coin collection when I was a kid; and as an adult I still have the hopeful expectation of discovering good things that others overlook. Living thirty minutes from the Atlantic Coast in Melbourne affords many opportunities for Beach Combers; but the rough surf tends to destroy most sea shells. One day I was walking along the debris line and among the flotsam found a solid, polished hard-wood like bean. It was appealing because it was so solid and compact, possessing weight and substance and a smooth surface. It was just perfect as a pocket token, like a pocket watch or a good luck charm. Being curious about the world around me, I went to the Internet, and using Google I opened the door to a tremendous hobby full of mental stimulation.
